Ultramarine Blue

Ultramarine is a beautifully bright blue with good tinting strength. Since the synthetic form became available in the 19th century, Ultramarine Blue has been the standard blue on many artists’ palettes. On the reddish side of blue, but not too violet, mixtures of Ultramarine tend to drop away and give airy depth.
